We are glad you’re here! Canter Financial was founded to provide our clients with a different experience than big banks and internet lenders. With over a decade in financial services, working with all types of borrowers, Grace is passionate about problem solving for her clients, whether that is simply wanting the best pricing or a complex financial picture that has been challenging for approval with others. She is frequently the lender who other lenders call for their own mortgages or a second opinion when they’re stuck, and was once told by an underwriting manager that she annoyed the hell out of him but if his own mother needed a loan, Grace is who he would want to take care of her. 

No two loans look the same, and with the constantly shifting sands in the industry with investors appetites, Grace founded Canter Financial to provide better flexibility for her clients to ensure their loans best meet their needs. Whether that means the ability to price shop for the best available terms, or specialty solutions for unusual scenarios, your loan will be placed with the investor with the best terms on a given day to provide you with cost savings and a streamlined process compared to the traditional models where the borrower has to seek out dozens of individual quotes and compare. 

Grace lives in Richmond VA with her husband Jim Maxwell JD/EA and their young son. She attended Norfolk Academy and the University of Virginia, and in her free time she can generally be found in the company of animals or in her garden- she has two Brussels Griffons (who you may see on a zoom call from time to time) and three horses, with whom she competes in hunter/jumper competitions up and down the east coast.
